Play Date!!

Menias and Charlie were born almost exactly two weeks apart. Menias is two weeks older than Charlie. I met Charlie's mom and dad in birthing class, and they ended up living in the same condo complex as us! We have gone through pregnancy together, labor stories, post partum fun :) and now we walk every morning, kids in tow. So, not only did I get Menias as a new family member, but we also have now adopted Aunt Kelly, Uncle Doug, and best friend Charlie :) Here are the boys hanging out on a Saturday night!

Menias is finally aware that there is actually someone else next to him... not quite sure what to think about it! Nice to meetcha Charlie!

Car seat fun

Thank God, Menias loves his car seat toys! (most of the time anyways) He will look up at his cow and frog and make the silliest cooing sounds, and make googly eyes to the cow. We are pretty sure he is in love :) One game he seems to enjoy is when I bring the frog leg close to his mouth, he will open his mouth so I can insert the leg, he then chomps down and pulls on the leg with his mouth- much like a dog playing tug a war! Haha, it is so funny!! The things our kids do...

A walk down memory lane...

It's hard to believe that Menias was born less than four months ago. It is crazy to me to look back at pictures, even now, and remember just how small he was when he came into this world. It's crazy to see how much our little boy has grown up in these past three months. Life is incredible, and it's these days of looking back that makes me remember to enjoy every day of him, even if there is non stop screaming, sleepless nights, or exploding diapers. It all goes by so fast... A short look down memory lane...

Summer Time at the Park

It is getting hotter and hotter each day here! It's no Phoenix, but it's still hot!! Today was the first time we went to the park with friends! Me, Menias, Bex, her little boy Jace, and Shawna all went to Thorpe park for a little hang out time. Although Menias was confined to the blanket the whole time, he seemed to enjoy himself. Jace got to eat lots of snacks and even went down the slide for the first time! He was a little freaked out by the slide, and decided that Menias' car seat was much more fun to play in. Next time, maybe we can try out the slide!

4th of July Fun

Happy 4th of July!! What a busy day! We started it off with a walk around the neighborhood, then cleaned the house, and got ready for some serious bbqing. Cousin Terri came to town to visit Menias for the first time, and it was a blast!! Hopefully next year daddy can join us :(

Happy 11 week Birthday, Baby!!

You've made it to 11 weeks today! Congratulations my little baby boy. Along with this milestone, you have now slept through the night the past two nights (7 hour stretches)!!!! Way to go!! Your mom is so happy for this milestone, and is praying it continues and only lengthens.

Menias, you are smiling consistently, and getting much better at holding your head up on your own. You have also started going down for naps without much fuss, thanks to your newest best friend... your thumb. Yes, you are also a thumb sucker at this point in your life! Enjoy it while it lasts baby! It sure it cute!

Menias goes swimming!!

So we decided it was to darn hot to not take advantage of a little swim time at the local athletic club. We suited Menias up and headed to the pool. He was totally stoked to go swimming... since he had NO idea what was coming! Do you think he liked it!?!?.......

Menias gets his first touch of the pool water, which to his dismay, is the COLDEST bath he's ever felt before! In turn, he immediately curls his toes back up OUT of the water!

With no choice, he decides it is best to grit his gums and deal with it...

Still not completely sold on the idea... but dad thinks it's hilarious!

Eventually, after he got used to hanging out in the water, he was lovin' it!! Look at that perfect back float! The kid is a natural, what can I say...

Out of the water and getting warmed up in mommy's arms, what a fun experience!
