It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas...

Josh and Shawna invited us to go down to Sedona to see the Christmas lights at Los Abrigados Resort. They were awesome! It was such a fun night. We got to eat a wonderful dinner at the Hideaway, while being entertained by live music via a guitar player! It was something I had never before experienced there, and loved it! He sang all the songs I grew up to listening, compliments of my dad. We then bundled up and froze our tooshes off while walking the sidewalks at Los Abrigados, admiring all the Christmas lights.

We stopped off for some hot chocolate and apple cider mid way through, before ending the night at our favorite display, the Charlie Brown Christmas. It was an all around hilarious and awesome night! I highly recommend going down to see the lights. It was well worth the trip.

This one was Josh's favorite. It was Tom and Jerry

Stopping to warm ourselves in the apple cider tent... it was freezing!!

And our favorite, although pictures don't do it justice, Charlie Brown!

Baby prep and Painting!!

Well we did it, we took a leap into the wonderful world of painting! With my trusty sidekicks by my side (Shawna and Bex) we took on the task of painting the future nursery. I decided on chocolate brown mat paint, with high gloss stripes in the same color. It was a task and a half, but we did it, and are officially stripe painting professionals, if anyone is looking for some help! I love the way it turned it, and couldn't have asked for a better painting team... well, maybe a little more motivation and enthusiasm out of Bex, but you can't win them all! :) She was a trooper!

Shawna is a painting maniac! She was fast, and had some great precision on those edges!
Thank God!

A bit of a bad picture, but the final paint product. It looks so neat in person!

We wrote messages to the little guy, so maybe someday he can read them, when he rips the waincoating off the walls!
The final paint project. And yes, we even put furniture together... We know... we are amazing.

Cutting a Christmas tree!

This year we decided to cut our own Christmas tree! It was cold and cloudy day, but Caleb, myself, Josh, Shawna, John, Bex, and Jace, all loaded up and traveled out to Babbit Ranch to find ourselves the perfect trees! It was a tough job, but I think we found them!

Josh and Shawna found the winning tree of the year! This one was perfect, and we were all jealous of them!

This little guy was our favorite. Unfortunately, we had to leave him for another year... :(

John also got into the spirit of things.... little did Josh know... such a crazy kid, that John!

It was an overall great day, and a great start to the Holiday Season. I look forward to this new yearly tradition with the best of friends by our sides.

Celtic Pride!... in the Pines... of Flagstaff...

It was cold and it was rainy, but we made it out to the Celtic Festival, here in Flagstaff. I had never been to anything like this before, so it was different and fun. They had vendors with great food, or tents so you could meet up with people that shared your same clan (last name), and a table with huge books for people to search and see if their last names were in the books and recorded as Celtic history. Good news, Phipps, and even Garcia were both in the books! We are officially legit celtic folk! I recommend the event if you have never been before. Thanks Wes for the invite!

Here is Caleb ready to kick some Celtic butt! He's tough, grrrr.......

And I also happened to find Caleb's Irish side. I knew it was in there somewhere....

Here is the whole crew (minus me) eating some lunch...in a dugout! It was raining like crazy and it was the only place that wasn't infested with people trying to get out of the rain and under a tent. It worked out though. And we even got to hang out with Rachael's room mate, Jennifer!

This event was awesome! They were all competing in different events like the cable toss, weight for height (pictured), the rock throw for distance, and some wooden pole toss. They were so cool to watch! The oldest competitor was 69 years old!! This guy obviously didn't win.... watch your head!
This guy was Caleb and I's favorite. He was the best at EVERY event! And he was super hilarious. Here he is going for the record in this event! 17 ft 1 inch! and the weight is 42 lbs!BUT..... he didn't make it over :(

And what is a day at the Celtic festival without my new sporty frog umbrella to keep me out of the rain! Wes seemed to like it the most (I don't blame you buddy, it is pretty cool).

Happy 4th of July!

It was a bit cold and dreary, but the 4th of July was great! Caleb and I had known of fireworks closer to town than Winslow, being at Mormon Lake. We went with Josh, Shawna, Rachael, her roommate Christina, and Caleb's boss Holly and her husband John.

We sat across the lake from where the fireworks were being lit off at Mormon Lake Village. It was SO COOL! We not only had a great view, but also got lots of elbow room and saw the beautiful reflection of the fireworks in the lake. It was gorgeous! I am feeling a 4th of July tradition....

To cut or not to cut...

I am currently craving change in my life! I think it might have to come in the form of a haircut. I have been debating this one, having recently decided to try to grow it out again! I recently was looking at some old pictures of me with long hair, and really do not like it! I am not looking into short hair cuts. I really like the one of Katie Holmes, and wanted some feedback! What do you think? Would this look go well for me? Give me your expert thoughts! Thanks, and if I decide to actually do it, I will post some before and after pictures! ahhhhhh so scared of change!

Congratulations John and Rebekah Adams!

It's official, Bex gave birth to our long awaited new addition to the gang! Jace Rylan Adams was born June 26th, sometime around 10 a.m. He came out with a full head of black hair, and crying like a duck! (according to John, who got to deliver him). He was 9 lbs 6 oz, and healthy as can be. We are so excited and glad that a beautiful and healthy baby was born. Congrats John and Bex, he is adorable!
